It warms our hearts

to see, hear about, and know the impact of our work!! And it’s all made possible by generous donations of money and time and the work of our partners Huellas de Ayuda Oaxaca with Tanya Lapierre, Atrapa Gatos Oaxaca and in the first year, Teo Tails. The first sterilization campaign that we funded was in September, 2022 in Ejido Guadalupe Victoria and just recently, we hit the 3,000 sterilization mark!

There are a myriad of motivations to sterilize these beautiful animals for free from the countless posts every week about a person encountering a box of puppies or.bag of kittens, to seeing the hardship the animals on the street, hungry, sick or hit by a car. And then there are those kind and loving souls that take advantage of the free campaigns to bring in the street animals that they feed. And we learn at these campaigns and when the teams deploy to a site that requires immediate need or cannot be addressed.by a campaign. We learn that at paying campaigns, a person will bring one animal in because that is all they can afford but they have more at home. Or they lack the transportation to bring in one or more of their animals.

Donations are put to work in several ways – by providing free campaigns, by deploying to a site to address an immediate need or where a campaign is not the best option. Atrap

At the campaigns the dogs and cats come in all shapes, sizes and conditions. Some with names, some given names at the registration table because a kind human took time out of their day to bring in the neighborhood dog(s) or cat(s) – because it is free! The motivation

At times, a care provider will learn that their pet has a health condition and learns that the animal cannot be sterilized on that day. In these situations, there is follow up to get the animal the care needed to restore its health and then they will be sterilized. These situations are paid for by donations received at the campaign but still requires a lot of volunteer time by the team.
