Teo Tails with Merry Foss

There is a constant knocking at her door by the locals who bring their sick or injured pets or street animal to Merry, aka María de los perros y gatos, who then frequently drops what she’s doing to usher them to her vets for care. Whether street animals or family pets, rarely does anyone have funds to pay for the medical care and often when donations run out, Merry covers these expenses. Teo Tails also provides flea and tick medicine, a free rabies vaccine clinic, and treats dogs with Transmissible Venereal Tumors (TVT).

Recently Merry developed a coloring book to teach children how to care for animals. When resources allow, during the sterilization campaigns there is a guided workshop where the children color, read about how to care for animals, and receive a badge of completion. This is a great way to foster an appreciation, love, and care of animals in future generations.

Merry is known to travel with a pole to capture street dogs, especially females in heat in need of immediate rescue and sterilization!
